WRITING:
Students completed their persuasive letters to "Santa". I copied them and gave the kids an envelope to place it in to give to their Santas. I will grade the originals over break.

SPELLING: We focused on using apostrophes in contractions and possessive nouns. We also spent time learning about subject and predicates which are necessary for complete sentences.

READING: We are not quite finished with our genre unit and will complete it when we return. Students have been discussing the book and working on comprehension and vocabulary skills in their packets.

MATH: We have been learning about line graphs, bar and double bar graphs. We'll review this when we return and then add in mean, mode, range, and median.

ELOQUENCE DAY:
We discussed and practiced manners in the morning which was fun and informative for students.
It was so nice to see everyone dressed up and practicing their manners.
We want to thank Lynae Wolfram, Missy Sterenberg, and Shauna Fitzwilliams for organizing this event for us as well as all of the parents that volunteered to wear their black and white and be our waiters and waitresses! This is another way for us to make the final year of elementary school special for the kids.
Here are some pictures!
